Understanding What A Psychic Is

By admin1 · Comments (0)
Friday, February 26th, 2010

Think of all the names those with psychic powers been called throughout the years: clairvoyant, fortune tellers, augur, and prophets. There are many different titles given to those who have any type of powers related to second sight, but the actual powers and activities of this group have been the same throughout the years.

People who are psychic believe that they can tap deep enough into the subconscious to be able to see things beyond what the natural eye sees. Some psychics claim to be able to speak with the dead (mediums). Others believe that tarot cards can be used to predict the future.

Psychics help people by giving them psychic readings. During these readings, they claim to be able to tap further into out subconscious than we can. That is why they can help us to answer tough questions about ourselves and our relationships.

Many people find that they enjoy having a psychic reading; however, some people are very shaken by psychic powers. Sometimes people find out things about themselves that they really didn’t want to know.

The very first known psychic lived from 1766 to 1815. Dr. Franz Antoine Mesmer has come under some scrutiny in modern days, but in his lifetime he was known as a clairvoyant with the power to heal. Exactly how powerful he actually was will never be known.

The Hydesville psychic movement of the 1940s was a big phenomenon and the Fox Sisters were right at the center of the action. Known for their ability to draw out dead people and make them communicate by moving things or making weird sounds, Margaret, Kate, and Leah Fox would put on fascinating shows in their time.

There were several churches in the past as well, that claimed to be able to speak with the dead and ward off demons. Many people still had a hard time believing all of this. Harry Houdini himself claimed that is was all fake. It would be some time before people would start to accept psychic powers.

The gift of prophecy and tendency to have precognitive flashes has also come into question over time. It is now believed that all humans can have precognitive moments. Think of all the times the phone has rang and you knew instinctively who was making it ring. It is also common for people to call someone else just knowing somehow that things are not right.

Many people with psychic abilities feel they are actually being steered by the universe in different directions. They usually participate in what is know as Mantic Arts. This is essentially where the person believes they can look at stones, tea leaves, and other objects and read messages or signs. For instance, some priests used to pour oil into water and attempt to see the future. The Christian church considered this dangerous and banned the practice.

The historical accounts of psychic readings can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt when psychics were a valued part of the royal court. A King would not make a decision without consulting a psychic, and there were stiff penalties if the wrong answers were given.

As we can see the history of psychic readings reaches back into the ancient world. In early Egypt psychics were part of the royal court, they were advisors to the Kings. Before any decisions were made, a psychic was consulted. Although this job was prestigious, it was often difficult. If a psychic were to have the wrong answer to a problem then he or she might face time in prison or even the death penalty.

Of course, no historical account of this activity can go without mentioning the Salem witch trials. Those found to have psychic powers were killed, and that included fortune tellers, by Christians who believed their powers came from the devil.

Today Psychics are widely accepted as part of society. They are prominent in large cities, as well as in books, on the radio, on television and on the internet.

Fortunately, some doubt is starting to disperse and more people realize that most psychics do have real powers. There are fakes in every profession, so this one cannot be expected to be any different.

In fact, science is now proving that every human being has some level of psychic power. These powers are of varying degree, but they can be developed if you are determined.

You could even have psychic powers of your own. Scientific research is now showing that most people have some sense of this power and if you are determined it can be developed.

Growing Old Doesn’t Mean You Have To ‘Grow Old’

By admin1 · Comments (0)
Friday, February 26th, 2010

All of us need to come to the realization that we’re going to grow old one day, though what we think of as aging is probably far different than what it actually can be if we take care of ourselves. Truthfully, growing old doesn’t mean you have to ‘grow old’ and, as Germaine Greer observed; ‘You’re only young once, but you can be immature forever.’ That’s a good philosophy to have.

In that vein, consider what you might do to affirm your essential youthfulness (even if you’re heading into your seventh decade of life) and street cred, so to speak. If you’ve never picked up a musical instrument like a guitar, you might want to consider doing so. And don’t worry if you’re a southpaw because a left handed electric guitar is readily available and ready to be blasted.

It really doesn’t matter what you do as you age up, because it’s more important that you just get up and do something to keep moving and stay active. Your body may try to convince you that it’s far better to sit on the porch, soaking up the sun and drying out like a raisin, but it’s only trying to trick you into stopping whatever it is you’re doing.

Maybe you have a touch of leg arthritis or some other ache or pain that comes and goes. That’s still no reason to begin to think that you’re suffering from the so-called infirmities of age. Just about every medical professional and fitness expert points out that people who fail to keep moving soon begin to start rusting, so never forget that.

Also, there’s a universe of therapies and modalities out there that exist to help us as we age up. They can be a great way to keep youth from escaping us as we add chronological years to our lives. So, head over to that big outlet store for a jumbo size bottle of Kirkland glucosamine, power down a bunch of them every day and get out there and do something to keep going.

This doesn’t mean, also, that you’ll be the all-world athlete you once were in your youth, but the famous writer George Bernard Shaw said it best when he observed that we don’t stop playing because we get older, but that we get older because we stop playing. That’s a great philosophy of life to carry around with you whenever you’re out and about.

Remember; do things that help you be youthful in more ways than just chronologically. Get out there and play or learn to strum a guitar or beat on some drums. Also, laugh as much as you can and do it deeply and for a long time. You’d be surprised at what you can make your body do when you’re suitably motivated, after all.

He needs to observe body language and and listen cautiously to his client before he sets a plan into motion. The course of action needs to be personalized to fit the client’s favoured learning technique .

Bristol Life Coaching – Other Contributing Factors

A life coach Should always be aware of a client’s physical condition. Perhaps the client lacks the appropriate amount of exercise and nutrition he needs, so the coach should offer suggestions pertaining to this. When alcohol or drug abuse is taking a toll on the client, the coach needs to attempt to persuade his client to get help. Additionally, he ought to realize the fine points of attaining self-confidence and plan a strategy in which his client obtains it. In addition, a life coach must be prepared to identify stressors in a client’s life and create an effective programme for reducing it. This strategy typically involves advising clients on ways to choose and attain goals, both long and short term using a stepwise process which can build on even the most minute achievement. Adjustability is another quality characteristic a life coach ought to possess. In the event that a client’s course of action isn’t working, he ought to posses the talent to examine and redirect the programme and retain the required health and safeguarding boundaries and also the comfort level of the client.

Bristol Life Coaching – Roles a Life Coach Doesn’t Play

A life coach doesn’t have the role of a psychologist, psychotherapist or counsellor, even though he gives some of his advice based on the beliefs of these professionals.
