Time Management in Seven Easy Steps

By admin1 · Comments (0)
Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Have you been procrastinating about projects you need to get started? Do you find yourself continually frustrated at the end of the day, with a mound of things that need to be done? Unfinished projects, e-mails to answer, stacks of paper that keep piling up? If so, you’re not alone. A lot of people suffer from an inability to make the most effective use of their time, but there is a solution if you just apply a few simple time management strategies. You’ll be able get more accomplished in less time with less hassle than ever before!

1. Set goals and determine what you want to accomplish.

Determine when you need to have the task completed by. Don’t think of this as a “to do” list but rather a “must do” list. Don’t give yourself the option of not finishing the task.

2. Determine where you are losing time.

Keep track of what activities are eating up your valuable time. Checking e-mails throughout the day can be a huge time waster. A much better option is to get as many things accomplished as possible early on, and then check e-mails later in the day, all at once. Also, it’s a good idea to keep your e-mail folders organized so that you can easily find what you’re looking for. There’s no need to do double paper handling, even if it’s just electronic paper.

Make Money Selling Other People's Stuff

Another tip for e-mails is in regards to handling long e-mails with multiple replies. Just keep the latest version and delete all previous versions. That way you won’t be reading the same things over and over again.

3. Use a daytimer or computer contact manager software.

Use one of these essential tools to list everything you need to accomplish and keep track of all your valuable contacts.

4. Prioritize.

Each morning, review the tasks you need to accomplish and prioritize them. Determine which ones are urgent, needing immediate action, and which ones can wait. Do the most important things first. Sometimes these are things you don’t really want to do but by getting the tough stuff out of the way you’ll feel a greater sense of accomplishment.

5. Ask for help; delegate.

You don’t have to do it all yourself. Ask for the assistance of others whenever possible.

6. Have a plan.

When you have a doctor’s appointment this doesn’t have to be down time. Bring something with you that you can work on – a book or report to read, a notepad, a laptop computer, or a PDA to check your email. Continue working on those tasks. Don’t let a moment go by wasted. Do this anytime you know you’ll be waiting in a lobby for any reason.

7. Work the plan.

Be consistent and work the plan every day.

Consistency is the key to this endeavor. If you’ve set realistic goals and you’ve followed the seven steps outlined here, you’ll be on your way to getting things done! There may still be some days that you just can’t get everything done. If you’re consistent however, you’ll be on your way to living a more productive and less stressful life.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day, and how we choose to spend this time is up to us.

The Law of Attraction – How to Activate in 3 Steps

By admin1 · Comments (0)
Monday, March 16th, 2009

What is ” The Law of Attraction” ?

The Law of Attraction simply states that whatever we focus on will be drawn to us.

The “Nut and Bolts” of the Law of Attraction

The secret law of attraction starts in our minds mixed with our emotions. As You are aware thought and emotions are energy. We can’t see the energy but science has proven that they exists. Our brain show ‘brain waves” when we are thinking and this can be displayed on the monitor of a brain wave machine. Our brain activity can be demonstrated in what science calls alpha-waves, beta-waves, theta-waves and delta-waves. These are all manifestation of energy. The law of attraction is best explained by briefly taking a look at quantum physics. It is the study of the building blocks of the universe. Quantum Physics has proven that everything in this universe is made up of atoms, and atoms are made up of sub-atomic particles sometimes called quanta. These sub-atomic particles are nothing but concentration of energy.

It has become clear that everything in this universe is made of energy. The only difference between an atom of iron and an atom of gold is that the atom of iron has energy that is vibrating at a different frequency to the energy of gold. It is clear that the reason why the same particles grow together is because they are vibrating at the same frequency.

How the Law of Attraction work?

In order to explain how the Law of Attraction works we need to understand what thoughts are.

Thoughts are Vibrational Energy and a very potent form of energy. That means it will attract to other energy with the same frequency. when we hold a thought in our mind or the picture of an item we would like to attract then the picture in our mind (thought) is at the same frequency of the item we are attempting to attract. This is a very simplified explanation of how we attract things to us.

How to implement the law of attraction

step 1: Determine what it is that you would like to attract and hold a picture in your mind.
Step 2: Hold the picture in your mind for as long and as often as possible
Step 3:See yourself enjoying the thing you would like to attract e.g. If it’s a new car, see yourself driving in the car waving to your friend. See yourself driving the car to a favorite place.

How to activate the law of attraction?
The simplest way to activate it is to hold a mental picture of what you desire as long as possible and as often as possible. Feel that you already have what you want with certainty; you will see it quickly in your physical life.

There are best self help book available which will give more information on the law of Attraction.

Read also about tapping emotional freedom – EFT has helped many people.

Mental Alchemy – [Another Form of Brain Washing or Cleansing]

By admin1 · Comments (0)
Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Back in the Middle Ages alchemists sought to transform base metal into gold. They searched for an elusive substance, the philosopher’s stone, which would bring about this conversion, known as alchemy. But to initiates of the ancient mystery schools, alchemy was primarily an allegory for the real work of spiritual and mental alchemy.

Spiritual alchemy is the process of transforming a less evolved soul personality into a more refined one. The founders of all major religions have attempted to expedite this transformation by providing rules to help people achieve this goal and also lead happier and more productive lives. Enlightenment, illumination, the perfection of the soul all point to this ultimate goal. Mystics from all religions have studied the universal laws to speed up this process, which they believe occurs over many lifetimes.

Mental alchemy is the process of transmuting your thoughts to improve your life and expand your mind. The good news is that this discipline can produce immediate, beneficial results in your current life, in some cases instantly.

Mental alchemy involves the replacement of beliefs that are hindering your development with positive ones that will help you. You might say that sounds straightforward–why would this be so difficult?

It turns out it’s extremely difficult to change beliefs. There are three reasons for this:

1) Most people mistake their beliefs for the truth. Even if it’s not in their best interest, some people resign themselves to their fate because they mistakenly accept a belief as true.

2) Beliefs operate at the subconscious level. Most people are unaware of their subconscious beliefs, which are often in conflict with their conscious thoughts. For example, a woman may consciously be seeking love, but subconsciously she may feel she’s unworthy. Unless her belief is made conscious and transmuted, it will continue to sabotage her efforts. For more information, click on Get Out of Jail Free: How to Identify Unconscious Beliefs.

3) You see what you believe. Less than 100 years ago physicists were trying to determine whether light was a wave or a particle. The answer depended on what you believed you would find. If you believed light was made of particles, then you could design an experiment that proved it. Conversely, if you believed light consisted of waves then you could design another experiment to prove that.

Make more money in a month than most people do in a year.

The placebo effect provides another example. In drug trials required to gain FDA approval, 40% of patients, on average, will obtain relief from placebos. They get better simply because they believe they will get better. Placebos have actually helped people with Parkinson’s disease.

The mystic principle behind these results is called the Law of Attraction or “like attracts like.” In the mystic world, and now in the world of quantum physics, we know that everything is energy. Everything has its own vibration, including a belief. People attract to themselves those experiences that match their existing belief system. They get to see what they believe.

So how does Mental Alchemy work?

Neurologists tell us the brain doesn’t know the difference between what’s actually experienced and what’s imagined to be experienced. The same electrical patterns are fired between the neurons in the brain. The electrical patterns in the brain reflect how we store and process information, including beliefs.

The ramification of this is profound: you can change your beliefs using your imagination. It doesn’t matter whether the belief is true or not.

Let’s take an example of a basketball player who misses the final shot of the state championship game and his team ends up losing by one point. This experience can be traumatic and will often reinforce negative beliefs that he’s a choker or a loser. Had he made the shot, he would be a hero and filled with the confidence of a winner.

Let’s say you are the basketball player. What should you do?

First, go to a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for 10-15 minutes. Make sure that none of your objective senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste) is being stimulated. Take a few deep breaths. Your goal is to relax and get into an alpha state. Scientists have shown that you can learn new skills much more readily while in this state. Meditation is ideal for this.

At this point, you should replay the end of the game in your mind. Only this time, when you take the final shot, do it with confidence and watch it go in. Visualize all the fans going wild as the buzzer sounds and your teammates carry you off the court. Involve all your senses and imagine how it feels to be the hero!

Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, but he probably missed just as many shots at the end of the game as he made. But you can be quite certain he didn’t dwell on the missed shots, but simply remembered the game-winning shots. You can do the same. Use the technique of Mental Alchemy and change your life.

Tips for a More Productive Week – Quadrant II Time Management

By admin1 · Comments (2)
Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Those of you familiar with Stephen Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, will recognize the term Quadrant II time manager. This ideal manager recognizes that time spent on the important but non-urgent aspects of their business are the most vital for success. The Quadrant II time manager spends time during the work day on long-term planning, developing relationships and training staff to take on delegated tasks. Note that they spends virtually no time answering email, plowing through an inbox or attending meetings.

Many entrepreneurs operate solo; they’re the cook, maitre d’, busboy and bottle washer of their business. Many have families to attend to and are desperately trying to keep all the plates on the tray without dropping any. I believe that’s why so many start-ups fail. There’s no way to manage that kind of chaos the way most of us try to manage.

Accomplish More Than Ever Today!

If you find yourself working night and day and still feel you’re accomplishing nothing, stop, take stock and try a new approach.

Measure Productivity

I’m going to assume that you have a long-term (five years) and shorter-term (six months to one year) vision for your business. Your daily activities and actions are guided by this vision, so it’s critical to start with a solid blueprint.

This big vision will be accomplished in small steps, taking action consistently over time. Once you acknowledge that you can’t possibly do everything you think you should do, have to do or want to do, ask the question “What is the best use of my time and energy today?”

Beth and James Hood, co-founders of Where’s the Map a site that helps high school and college students make their transition into the working world, have one- and five-year plans for the company’s income, products and impact.

They break down that vision into smaller pieces that I call spokes, and these are what determine their daily actions. For example, they have a long-term goal of being sought-after speakers on college campuses. The spoke they are working on is “Build a national platform for speaking.” Activities that might flow from that spoke include: Create a speaker and press kit, schedule 10 radio interviews a month, add 1,000 people per month to the Web site, and refine presentation skills.

Each day they make a list of the six most important things they can do to move forward on their spoke. The actions are simple, small and measurable. They put no more than six on the list at a time. Then they schedule a two-hour chunk of time during the day when they can turn off their phone and focus on taking those six steps. If they don’t finish, they roll the items over to the next day, making sure to finish the carry-over items first.

They also have spokes that relate to the deeper values in their lives: their marriage, their home and physical environment, service to the community, spiritual practice, etc. Each of these has action items as well.

In this way, the Hoods accomplish six steps toward their long-term goal in a short period of time each day. At the end of the day, they can measure their productivity in small, consistent actions. The list becomes a sort of diary of accomplishments, and they can refer to it for motivation.

6 Key Elements to Great Vision – The Art of Seeing Without Eyes

By admin1 · Comments (0)
Monday, December 15th, 2008

As you master vision you begin to have the ability to see things before they are ever occurring in your so-called “reality”. Imagine you could see exactly how that million-dollar business would be like before you ever built it, you know all the small details and can execute perfectly because you’ve already seen the completed project. Imagine you could see the home you lived in and knew exactly how every room was going to look, smell and sound like, how would that feel? Imagine you knew what cars you’d own, the places you’d travel too and experiences that were coming. Wouldn’t that be exciting if you could “place your order” with the universe and then “have it delivered”? I think it is and I believe everyone who’s ever attained legendary greatness and lead out-standing lives has vision and loved its power.

The key elements required to achieve great vision are:

1. A positive and optimistic attitude. Surround yourself with other positive and successful people, videos, books, tapes, events and places. Always keep the positive in and the negative out of your head, guard it with your life.
2. A desire to read and expand your intelligence. (Read books by all the “Greats” – Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Dr Norman Vincent Peale, Joseph Murphy, Stephen Covey, Earl Nightengale, W. Clement Stone, Robert Kiyosaki, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, etc)
3. A passion for thinking and using your intelligence. Take time every day to actually think. Sit still in the quiet and think, use your head so to speak. I am not saying meditate here I am saying think.
4. Open mind. Keep your mind open and searching for new information. Be curious. Curiosity didn’t kill the human, it killed the cat ;-)
5. A big reason WHY. Your reason WHY is going to be the reason you push on, the reason you get back up, the reason you refuse to quit. If you’re missing that WHY you’ll have microsoft website design time staying the course. You won’t really know WHY you’re doing it and that will cause you to be easily swayed from your dreams.
6. You must Dream and Dream Big. When you dream and use your mind to play you are actually creating things that will end up in your experience if you microsoft website design in line with them, if they are things you focus on they will attract to you. Trouble is we can attract both positive and negative things to us all based on where we hold our focus, we focus on positive, that is what we’ll attract, and vice versa.

Try taking the coachability assessment to see if career coaching is right for you.
